The issue of Hormuz dominated the QUAD meeting held in Delhi. The foreign ministers of the countries included in this organization discussed opening the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible. This meeting of QUAD has given a message of tension to Iran. Actually, in this meeting there was discussion on opening of Hormuz and passage of ships without any hindrance.
In the joint press conference after the meeting, S Jaishankar said that there are many challenges before us today. The supply chain is affected at the global level. Along with this he said that we have zero tolerance against terrorism.
Current situation of the world was discussed in QUAD
After the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Quad, a joint press release was also issued. In which it was said, ‘An important meeting of the foreign ministers of Quad has taken place. Most of the discussions in this meeting focused on the latest situation in the world. Being a Quad, we focused on the issues of the Indo Pacific region. Since we are four maritime democracies located on different sides of the Indo Pacific region, the exchange of ideas was important.

Expanding cooperation in maritime sector: QUAD
It said, ‘Cooperation in the maritime domain has continuously expanded, including surveillance and area awareness, logistics networks, submarine cables, training, capacity building and disaster risk reduction (HADR) activities. We will strengthen these areas further in the coming times.
Consensus reached among all four foreign ministers on global supply chain: QUAD
QUAD foreign ministers said, ‘We talked about the issue of safe and unimpeded maritime trade and reiterated the importance of strictly following international law. All four of our nations are market economies. We strongly believe that economic resilience should be promoted. Supply chains should be strengthened, reliable and safe engineering should be disseminated, production capacities should be increased. In our discussions, the energy sector and availability of fertilizers in today’s times were also discussed.
