In the eliminator match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs. The hero of RR’s spectacular victory was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played a stormy innings of 97 runs in 29 balls. RR batsman Dhruv Jurel says that Vaibhav’s mantra is that he does not care about the bowler.
While speaking in the press conference, Jurel praised Vaibhav profusely. He said, “The best thing that I have seen about Vaibhav is that he doesn’t plan anything. He practices a lot and always believes in himself. Whenever he goes out and plays, he does the same. The best thing about him is that he believes in himself. He doesn’t have the slightest doubt that I won’t be able to do it.”
Jurel said that Vaibhav is not a bowler but focuses only on the ball. He said, “When we used to go to the academy, we were taught to look at the ball and not the bowler. We always used to look at the bowler and think that he is a big name. However, Vaibhav only looks at the ball. Nothing else. Vaibhav’s mantra is that he does not care about the bowler.”
Vaibhav completed his half-century in just 16 balls in the eliminator match. He became the batsman to score the joint fastest half-century in the IPL playoffs. Along with this, he made the record of hitting most sixes in one season of IPL. Vaibhav has hit 65 sixes so far in IPL 2026.
He broke the record of Chris Gayle, who had hit 59 sixes in 2012. He has become the uncapped batsman who has scored the most runs in a season in IPL history. Vaibhav has scored 680 runs in 15 matches this season. He hit 12 sixes in his innings of 97 runs. He also became the batsman who hit most sixes in the IPL playoff match.
