Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on May 31: Today, Sunday, May 31, government oil companies did not make any change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country. The latest increase in fuel rates took place on Monday, May 25, when the prices of both petrol and diesel were increased by more than Rs 2.50 per litre. This was the fourth increase in prices in less than two weeks.
The supply of crude oil has been affected due to tension in West Asia and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Due to this, imports have become expensive for India also. After suffering losses for a long time, oil companies now had no option but to increase rates.

The government has already taken many measures
Amid the ongoing conflict in Iran and increasing tension around Hormuz, the prices of petrol and diesel are continuously going up and down. The government has already implemented several reform measures on both the supply and demand sides. These include increasing production in refineries, increasing the booking interval from 21 to 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas and giving priority to different areas for supply.
Situation worsened in Rajasthan
According to PTI report, Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association has warned that if the state government does not pay heed to their demands related to fuel prices, supply shortage and administrative action against dealers, then petrol pump operators across the state will go on an indefinite strike from June 1. Reduction in VAT is also one of the main demands of the association. The association sent a letter to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday, in which they demanded immediate intervention from the Chief Minister and demanded a meeting with the government before June 1.
Association President Rajendra Singh Bhati alleged that despite repeatedly sending letters and emails, no meeting has been called at the level of Principal Secretary. According to the PTI report, he said, “The biggest problem the dealers are facing is the interruption in the supply of petrol and diesel. Many petrol pumps in the state are running out of petrol and diesel every day.”
