A major railway accident was averted at Ludhiana railway station on Saturday (6 June 2026). A coach of a special train going from Delhi to Mata Vaishno Devi was suddenly damaged. This incident happened when the train was leaving the station. According to the information, the damage occurred due to a technical fault on the bathroom side of the compartment.
It is a matter of relief that no passenger suffered any loss of life in this incident. As soon as information about the incident was received, railway officials and relief teams immediately reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The damaged coach is being inspected and necessary action is being taken. At present, investigation has been started to find out the reasons for this incident. The railway administration is investigating the entire matter so that the reason for the technical fault can be clarified.

Technical reasons in special train at Ludhiana station
In a statement issued by the Ferozepur division of Northern Railway, it was said that after a technical fault in the special train at Ludhiana station, S1 and S2 coaches were separated from the train. Alternative arrangements were immediately made for all the passengers traveling in these two coaches. Railways said that all the passengers were sent safely to their destination through Swaraj Express and Malwa Express. The railway administration has said that the safety of passengers is its first priority and investigation into the entire matter is going on.
