7 people died in a horrific road accident on Emirates Road in Dubai on Monday (8 June 2026), which includes many Indian labourers. According to preliminary investigation by Dubai Police, a truck had stopped in the middle of the road due to a technical fault. The driver of the minibus coming from behind did not keep a safe distance and collided with the rear of the truck. The Indian Embassy in Dubai said in a post on Twitter that the death of an Indian laborer and injuries to several people have been confirmed in this accident. However, the exact number of Indians killed is not yet known.

The minibus was blown away
Brigadier Juma Salem, director of the traffic department of Dubai Police, said, ‘9 people aboard the bus were injured. Of these, 5 people have suffered very serious injuries, while 4 others are moderately injured. Everyone is undergoing treatment in the hospital. In the pictures released after the accident, it can be seen that the collision was so strong that the minibus was blown to pieces. Brigadier Juma warned that parking a vehicle in the middle of the road is one of the most dangerous mistakes, which leads to such terrible and fatal accidents.
The condition of many of the injured is critical
He said, ‘Seven people died and nine were injured in this accident, of which five were seriously injured and four were slightly injured. All the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment. Dubai Police has warned in a strict tone that stopping the vehicle in the middle of the road is a serious crime. For this, a heavy fine of 1,000 dirhams (AED) is imposed on the driver and 6 black traffic points are recorded on his driving license.
