Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha has praised PM Modi for becoming India’s longest continuously elected Prime Minister. All this is happening at a time when the list of 19 rebel TMC MPs has come out, in which Shatrughan Sinha’s name is also included. Sharing a picture with PM Modi on Instagram, he wrote, ‘Heartiest congratulations to our friend with true sporting spirit, guide of the country and society, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji on completing 12 years in office. This is probably the longest tenure so far. We wish you a long, healthy and prosperous life. Jai Hind!’

I will never leave my sister: Shatrughan Sinha

However, he maintained his loyalty towards Mamata Banerjee and said, ‘I will never leave Didi.’ He clearly denied being in the rebel group led by MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. He said, ‘A lot has been said about me. Some people are saying that I am part of the rebel group. All this is not true.” He stressed that he will never leave Mamata Banerjee.

Didi was with me in difficult times: Shatrughan Sinha

Shatrughan Sinha said, ‘Mamata Banerjee stood with me in difficult times. I will also stand with them in difficult times. On the request of TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Asansol. I will never leave my sister. Shatrughan Sinha started his political career with BJP. After serving for decades as a prominent BJP leader and former Union Minister, he left the party.

Shatrughan Sinha contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Patna Sahib on a Congress ticket, but lost. In 2022, he joined Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress and won the Asansol Lok Sabha by-election. Even in 2024, he retained the Asansol seat as a TMC candidate.
