Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has released the official notification for Apprentice Recruitment 2026. Under this recruitment drive, appointments will be made to a total of 495 apprentice posts. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 11 June 2026 to 1 July 2026.
Various trades have been divided into three different groups for recruitment so that candidates with different educational qualifications can apply. 10th pass candidates can apply in Group-A. This group includes trades like draftsman (mechanical), electrician, fitter, pipe fitter and structural fitter. The age of the candidates for these posts should be between 15 to 19 years as on 1 October 2026.
Group-B is for those candidates who have passed ITI in relevant trade. This includes electrician, draftsman, electronic mechanic, painter, welder, COPA, carpenter and other technical trades. The age limit prescribed for this group is 16 to 21 years.
Whereas in Group-C, 8th pass candidates can apply. This group includes rigger and welder (gas and electric) trades. The age of the candidates for these posts should be between 14 to 18 years.
Reserved categories will get age relaxation
According to government rules, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category will be given relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit. Other reserved categories will also get the benefit of age relaxation as per rules.
Selection will be done in three stages
The selection process for MDL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will be completed in three phases. First of all the candidates will have to give Computer Based Examination (CBT). Candidates successful in the examination will be called for the next stage.
In the second phase, the documents of the candidates will be verified and trades will be allotted on the basis of their qualification and merit. After this, medical examination will be conducted in the final phase. Candidates who succeed in the medical test will be selected finally.

How much is the application fee?
The application fee for recruitment has been determined according to the category. General, OBC, SEBC, EWS and AFC category candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 100.
Whereas candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Disabled (PWD) category will not have to pay any application fee. The application process for these classes has been kept completely free.

Candidates first go to the official website of MDL. After this, new candidates should register and login into the portal with the help of the received login ID and password. Fill all the information asked in the application form carefully and upload the required documents. Make online payment if fees are applicable. Finally, after submitting the application form, take a printout of it.
