Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said on Saturday that India is responsible for Hindus in Bangladesh and "We cannot avoid this duty." Addressing a press conference during the ongoing All India Representative Assembly (ABPS) in Bengaluru, RSS joint general secretary Arun Kumar made this statement.
In response to the question whether the persecuted Hindus should be accepted by India, Arun Kumar made a clear statement that Hindu community is our responsibility in Bangladesh. We cannot avoid this. The India which we proud call our country with pride, the Hindus of Bangladesh have shaped as much as the Hindus of India. "In Bangladesh, Hindus should live with peace and happiness. They should contribute to their country, but if there is a difficult situation in future, then we cannot back down. If such a situation comes, we will solve it." He emphasized that the history and civilization of India and Bangladesh is the same.
he said, "It is unfortunate that partition occurred in 1947. We divided the land, not population. Both countries had agreed to the safety of minorities. The Nehru-Liyakat agreement was also signed … It is unfortunate that Bangladesh did not respect it. We wish that wherever they live, be with respect, security and religious identity. We should try to achieve this."
expressed concern over the situation in Bangladesh
Expressing concern over the situation in Bangladesh, he said, "It should not be seen as a political issue. Governance has changed, but this is not the only reason for violence. There is also a religious aspect of this. Primary and continuous goals are Hindu and other minorities. The oppression of Hindus and minorities is not new."
existence crisis for the Hindu community in Bangladesh & nbsp;
he said, "This is a crisis of existence for the Hindu community in Bangladesh. Recent violence has shown that the Bangladeshi government and its institutions are involved in attacks against Hindus and minorities, which is a serious concern."
he further said, "People responsible for this violence are trying to make it not only anti -Hindu but also anti -India. Many leaders have given statements in this regard. We share cultural and historical relations with our neighboring countries for thousands of years. Efforts are being made to create mistrust and discord between India and its neighbors."
There are many international forces behind it
He also claimed that "There are many international forces behind this. We have discussed the role of Pakistan and American Deep State. Bangladesh has been called to stand in solidarity with the Hindu community."
When he was asked whether the RSS is satisfied with the central government’s response to the situation of Bangladesh, he said, "This is a continuous process, the issue is not completely resolved. The government is doing its work, and we have urged him to take all possible action. We are satisfied that the central government has understood the seriousness of the issue, sent the Foreign Minister to various places, has been discussed and used international forums."
He said that we have mentioned this concern in our proposal. Efforts should continue until the normal situation is completely restored.
When asked if India was asked whether India should intervene to restore former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Arun Kumar said, said, "The people of Bangladesh will decide to restore Sheikh Hasina. They have their own constitution and system. I do not think that any other country needs to intervene in this matter."
