Name Cities: Everyone can see how crowded Delhi-NCR has become. The government has now taken a big decision to reduce the pressure on the increasing population, traffic and facilities here. According to this decision, 4 new greenfield cities will be built in NCR in the next 5 years. These will be called NaMo Cities and Rs 5000 crore will also be spent for their development.
What are Namo Cities?
The decision to create NaMo Cities has been taken in the meeting of NCR Planning Board chaired by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal. Under this scheme, one new greenfield city each will be built in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. These cities will balance the development of NCR and reduce the population burden on Delhi.

According to government estimates, the urban population of NCR can reach about 57% by 2031 and 67% by 2041. In such a situation, due to the increasing population, the pressure on Delhi and surrounding cities is also increasing, that is why this scheme is necessary. Under this scheme, there is a plan to reduce the travel time between the main cities of NCR to about 30 minutes.
What will be your benefit?
The development of new cities will provide job opportunities in real estate, infrastructure, construction and service sectors. Besides this, investment will also get a boost. If this scheme is implemented on time, then people of NCR can get better housing, less traffic, better connectivity and new job opportunities.
