Strait of Hormuz News: After about four months of crisis, the situation now seems to be normal. After the agreement between America and Iran, preparations have started to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. However, just because the route is opened, the movement of ships will not become normal immediately. Many countries of the world including India are now waiting to see which cargo and ships will regain their speed first. What will come first, especially in India, remains to be seen.
LPG or oil first?
Let us tell you that it is a matter of great relief for India that the government and oil companies have decided to bring the supply of LPG first. After traffic is restored in Hormuz, the first ships carrying LPG will be sent to India.

Why only LPG?
Most of the gas and oil in India is imported from Gulf countries. During the Hormuz crisis, the supply of LPG was most affected and its prices also became expensive across the country. Keeping this in view, Indian Oil has already started arranging ships to bring LPG and crude oil. The company has started chartering a VLGC and large oil tankers. LPG cargo is planned to be loaded in the end of June and first week of July only.
What will happen in 11 days?
According to media reports, after the reopening of Hormuz, first of all the stranded ships will be taken out, then new cargo will be loaded and after that shipping will start. Market experts say that in 10-11 days, sea traffic will increase rapidly and the movement of energy cargo will be as before. However, it may take longer to get back to normal due to insurance approvals, security checks and shipping backlogs.

How much will India benefit?
India imports more than 40% of its crude oil and about 90% of LPG requirement. In such a situation, India benefits the most from the opening of Hormuz. If regular supply of LPG and crude oil starts then the problems in the domestic market will be reduced. Besides, the pressure on oil prices in the international market may also reduce, due to which India’s import bill is also likely to reduce. It can be assumed that soon the pressure on the common man’s pocket is also likely to reduce.
