America’s President Donald Trump often makes headlines because of his statements. Trump’s comments about Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni are being discussed a lot. PM Meloni and many other Italian leaders also gave a befitting reply to the American President. After this, Trump now cornered Italy and said that despite spending trillions of dollars on NATO, Italy and PM Meloni are not ready to even think about joining the issue of Iran and the serious nuclear threat related to it.
US President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Despite spending trillions of dollars on NATO, Italy and its Prime Minister are not ready to even think about joining the Islamic Republic of Iran and the serious nuclear threat it poses. We have been protecting them for decades, but when it comes to our security and the world’s security, they do not seem to stand with us. This is not a good thing!”

Controversy over photo
Trump claimed that Meloni ‘begged’ to be photographed with him at the G-7 summit. After this statement of Trump, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni gave a strong reaction and said that neither I nor Italy ever beg. US President Donald Trump claimed during a TV program that Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni had ‘begged and requested’ to be photographed with him during the recent G-7 summit. Expressing displeasure over this statement, Georgia Meloni said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’, “I and Italy never beg before anyone.”
Meloni’s befitting reply
Meloni said that President Trump’s words are completely imaginary. We do not understand why the President of America behaves like this, especially with his allies. We would like them to show the same strictness towards the enemies of the Western countries. Meloni said that regardless of political views, the President of the United States has no right to publicly mock or insult the democratically elected leader of a close European ally.
