Bangladesh’s experienced batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been selected as ‘ICC Men’s Player of the Month’ for May 2026. Mushfiqur has won this award for the second time in his career by defeating his own countryman Taijul Islam and Nepal’s all-rounder Deependra Singh Airi. Earlier, he had won this title in May 2021.
Mushfiqur Rahim played an important role in Bangladesh winning the Test series 2-0 against Pakistan under the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. 39-year-old Mushfiqur scored 253 runs in two Test matches at an average of 63.25. This helped the Bangladeshi team to rise in the standings of the World Test Championship.

Mushfiqur had scored 71 runs in the first innings of the first Test against Pakistan, after which he played an inning of 22 runs. After this, he scored 137 runs in the second innings of the second test played in Sylhet.
