Rishabh Pant has once again gone back to his old team Delhi Capitals from Lucknow Super Giants. In place of Pant, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav became a part of Lucknow from Delhi. You can call this the biggest trade in IPL history. Now with Hardik Pandya going to Rajasthan Royals, the second biggest trade of the tournament can be seen.
Hardik came to Mumbai Indians through a trade deal in 2024. He replaced Rohit Sharma as captain, but his captaincy was a flop in all three years. The team could not qualify for the playoffs in 2024 and 2026. In 2025, the team made it to the playoffs, but could not reach the trophy. Along with this, Hardik’s performance with ball and bat also remained average.
In view of all these shortcomings, the discussion regarding Hardik’s trade has intensified. It is being said that in place of Hardik, Rajasthan Royals’ young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal will be a part of Mumbai. A big trade was seen in Rajasthan for the 2026 IPL, where the team’s regular captain Sanju Samson went to Chennai Super Kings. In their place Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran came to Rajasthan.
For what amount will Hardik be traded?
At present, no information has been received about the amount for which Hardik Pandya and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be traded. This will be known only after the official announcement of the trade by the franchise or IPL.
Hardik was retained by Mumbai for the 2026 season at a price of Rs 16.35 crore. Whereas Jaiswal was retained by Rajasthan for a price of Rs 18 crore.
Hardik Pandya’s IPL career
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has played 162 matches in his IPL career so far. Batting in 150 innings of these matches, he scored 2955 runs, which included 10 fifties. While bowling, Hardik took 82 wickets in his name, in which the best figure is 5/36.
