Skoda has introduced its new flagship SUV Peak EV in the global electric car market. This is the company’s most premium and most advanced electric SUV till date. It can run up to 647 kilometers on a single charge and its big battery gets charged up to 80 percent in just 28 minutes. Due to such a long range and fast charging, this car can become a great option for customers traveling long distances.
Skoda Peak EV has been introduced in three variants. The entry level 60 variant has a 63kWh battery, which gives a range of approximately 459 kilometers. The 90 variant has a larger battery of 91kWh, whose range is said to be up to 647 kilometers. Its top model 90x has a dual motor all-wheel drive system which generates power of 299 horsepower and gives a range of 613 kilometers.
Vehicle performance and features
This SUV is also quite excellent in terms of performance. The top variant 90x can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.7 seconds. Whereas the 90 variant takes 7.1 seconds and the 60 variant takes 8.6 seconds to achieve the same speed. Talking about fast charging, the 91kWh battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just 28 minutes with the help of a 199kW DC fast charger, while the smaller battery can be charged in 27 minutes.
Skoda has given this SUV a modern and futuristic look. New design language has been used in it. The closed grille at the front, T-shaped matrix LED headlights, attractive DRLs and aerodynamic alloy wheels give it a very premium look. Features like flush door handle and roof spoiler further improve its styling. T-shaped LED taillights have also been provided at the rear, which gives it a distinct identity.
Vehicle interior and safety
The interior of the car has also been made quite high-tech. It has a large 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10-inch digital driver display and heated steering wheel. Apart from this, 16-speaker sound system, dual wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof and USB charging ports are provided in all seat rows. This SUV also supports bi-directional charging, which means it can power the home or other electronic devices when needed.
In terms of safety, the Peak EV has modern features like 10 airbags, 360 degree camera, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Auto Park Assist and Augmented Reality based head-up display as standard. All these features make driving more safe and comfortable.
