Petrol-Diesel Price Today on June 25: Due to the ongoing conflict in Iran and increasing tension around the Strait of Hormuz, there are continuous fluctuations in the prices of petrol and diesel. In a press release issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on June 23, the Ministry said regarding the Ethanol Blending Program (EBP) that the process of mixing ethanol in petrol is scientifically proven and it does not have any bad effect on the engines of vehicles.
The ministry said, “The Government of India has observed some misleading and baseless claims about Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) on social media, which appear to be intended to confuse and mislead the public. It has also been observed that old photographs and videos are being re-shared in an attempt to sensationalize and generate more views and create unnecessary concern about ethanol-blended fuel.”
Why is ethanol blending necessary?
In the country where petrol prices have crossed Rs 100 per litre. During that time, ethanol blending reduces India’s dependence on crude oil imports to a great extent. This will help in keeping fuel prices under control in the future.
Moreover, since ethanol is an environment-friendly fuel, its blending with petrol significantly reduces carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions from vehicles. Also, since ethanol is produced mainly from sugarcane juice and spoiled grains, its increasing use increases the income of the farmers of the country. Keeping all this in view, the government has set a target of 20% ethanol blending (E20) across the country.
What is the fuel rate today?
Today, on June 25, the price of petrol in New Delhi is Rs 102.12 per liter, while the price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs 113.47 per liter. Similarly, the price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 111.21 per liter and in Chennai it is Rs 107.76 per liter. The price of petrol in Hyderabad is Rs 115.73. At the same time, the price of petrol in Bengaluru is Rs 110.93 per liter.
What is the price of diesel?
The price of diesel in New Delhi on June 25 is Rs 95.20 per liter. Whereas, the price of diesel in Kolkata and Hyderabad is Rs 99.82 per liter and Rs 103.82 per liter respectively. Its price in Mumbai has been recorded at Rs 97.83 and in Chennai the price of diesel has been recorded at Rs 99.55 per liter.
