Delhi EV Charging Hub: The craze for electric vehicles is continuously increasing in India and people are also expressing a lot of confidence in EVs. Due to which we are seeing increasing number of electric vehicles on the roads. But those driving electric vehicles were always worried about what would happen if the charging of the vehicle ran out in the middle of the journey. If you also think the same then now your tension is going to go away.

Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) is preparing to build large EV charging hubs in its parking lots near many major metro stations, big markets and commercial complexes of the capital so that people can easily get a solid charging setup. So let us know what can change with this new project.

New charging hub will be ready

You must have often noticed that usually small stations have only two or three charging points. Due to which there are long queues to charge the vehicle. But now the biggest feature of the new hub that MCD is preparing will be that more than 25 charging points will be installed at one place.

These hubs will have the facility to charge both two-wheeler and four-wheeler simultaneously. For this, MCD has started talks with about 10 government companies, some of which have shown keen interest in building big hubs of 27 and 30 points.

You can change the battery in a few minutes

Let us tell you that at present the largest number of electric two-wheelers are on the roads of Delhi. To save time of such scooter and bike riders, special facility of battery-swapping will be provided at these hubs. The advantage of this will be that you will not have to sit for hours after putting your car on charge. You will go to the bus station, hand over your discharged battery there and immediately continue your journey with a fully charged battery in exchange. Apart from this, there will be both fast and slow chargers so that you can charge the vehicle as per your need.

There will also be strict security arrangements

In the coming time, when the plan becomes completely successful, it will become not just a common charging station but a large-scale integrated hub. Therefore, huge investments are being made in these and expensive equipment is being installed. From security point of view, MCD is also considering deploying special cordon and guards at all these hubs.

So that there is no fear of theft or vandalism. At present, 470 charging and swapping stations are working in Delhi, but once this new mega plan of MCD comes on the ground, the entire picture of EV infrastructure in Delhi will change.
