In the first T20 match against India, Ireland has given a chance to Jai Mundra in the playing eleven. Jai Mundra is an all-rounder by profession and a player of Indian origin. Let us tell you that Jai is making his international debut at the age of 29 (Jai Moondra Debut). How did Rajasthan-born Mundra reach the Ireland team? His story from Rajasthan to making his international cricket debut for Ireland is very interesting.
Started in Rajasthan
Jai Mundra was born on 10 January 1997 in Tonk city of Rajasthan. He was fond of cricket since childhood, so he took admission in a cricket academy in Rajasthan itself. Earlier he used to bowl fast, but by the age of 18, he had not only become a top-order batsman but also gave up fast bowling and started bowling off-spin with his left hand.
After some time, Jai Mundhra once again developed a love for fast bowling. He himself says that if he had joined a corporate job after college in 2019, perhaps his cricket career would have ended there. He thought of leaving his job and giving cricket one last chance.
