NEET UG 2026: If you have given NEET UG 2026 re-exam then today is a very important day for you. National Testing Agency (NTA) had given the facility to lodge objections on the provisional answer key, the last date of which is June 28. Candidates can register their objection till 11:50 pm tonight. No objection of any kind will be accepted after the stipulated time.
If you have any objection to any question or its answer, then visit the official website in time and register your objection. After this NTA will examine all the objections and then the final answer key will be released. The result will be declared on the basis of this final answer key. Candidates who appeared in the re-exam can visit the official NEET portal and submit their objections with the help of their application number and login details. For filing objection on each question, fixed non-refundable processing fee will have to be deposited. Besides, candidates will also have to provide relevant educational proof or references in support of their claim. NTA has made it clear that any objection sent without depositing fees or after the stipulated time limit will not be considered.

After the release of the provisional answer key, candidates can estimate their probable marks. However, the final marks will be decided only on the basis of the final answer key. If any question or answer is changed during the scrutiny of objections, its effect will be equally applicable to all the candidates.
When will the final answer key be released?
After the closure of the objection window, all the objections received by NTA will be examined by a team of subject experts. If any candidate’s objection is found correct, the concerned answer will be amended. After this the final answer key will be released. NTA has made it clear that after the release of the final answer key, no new objection will be accepted on it.

Result will come after final answer key
NTA has said that the result of NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be prepared on the basis of final answer key. After the release of the result, candidates will be able to download the scorecard with the help of their application number and password by visiting the official website. Candidates will get many important information in the scorecard received after the release of the result, which includes full marks, percentile score, All India Rank (AIR), category rank and qualifying status. Along with this, NTA will also release category wise cut-off marks and merit list.
Counseling will start after the result
After the declaration of results, the process of admission in medical colleges will start. Counseling for 15 percent All India Quota seats will be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC). Whereas admission on 85 percent state quota seats will be done through the counseling authority of the respective state. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official website of NEET for all updates related to final answer key, result and counselling.
