In the official message issued by Tehran, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has expressed gratitude for the sentiments and Eid greetings expressed by PM Modi. He said, ‘Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, I have received your congratulatory message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. I praise you for this and congratulate you too. I am sure that the historical friendship between the two countries, based on mutual respect and common interests, will become stronger with the efforts of both the governments.
He further said, ‘I pray to Allah for the prosperity and continued victory of the Government of India and the great people of India.’
Khamenei’s first message to India after assuming office
