Shobha Ohatkar, a 1990 batch IPS officer and Director General of Home Defense Corps and Fire Service, who has a strong temper and can shatter the plans of criminals in a moment, is retiring today on Tuesday, 30th June. A farewell ceremony program has been organized today at the Central Training Institute of Bihar Home Defense Vahini located in Bihta Anandpur, Patna.
Bihar Police will definitely feel the absence of Shobha Ohtkar. She is known in Bihar as a tough and tough IPS officer who gets rid of criminals and mafia. She became an IPS officer for the first time at the age of 22 and took charge as Patna City ASP in her first posting in 1992.

Shobha Ohatkar was born in Pune. He did MA in Politics from Hyderabad after which he passed the Civil Services examination. His father Balram Ahotkar has been Excise Commissioner in Hyderabad. Shobha Ohtkar has always given credit for her success to her father. He has a son and a daughter. She got divorced from her husband a long time ago.

Shobha Ohatkar had been SP in 6 districts of Bihar from 1992 to 2000 and was very popular wherever she was SP. At that time Bihar and Jharkhand were together. Women were also misbehaved near Baijnath Dham temple, on which Shobha Ohatkar took strong action. She used to catch criminals and beat them with Hunter in the middle of the road.

When the investigation of the case was taken to the end through investigation, such incidents were controlled. But many white-washed people were also involved in it and had to face many challenges but Shobha stood firm.

While being the SP of Vaishali district, he had eliminated many big criminal gangs. 16 to 17 gangs were completely eliminated in Diara area of Raghopur. She always kept saying that an IPS should have all kinds of experience. Must have CID, Special Branch and 15 years of field experience.
In the year 2023, the dispute between him and IG Vikas Vaibhav was in the headlines. IG Vikas Vaibhav had posted on social media and alleged that DG Shobha Ohtkar abuses and mentally tortures him and his family. Later this matter also came to the notice of the government.
