A new record was seen in Javelin Throw on the last day of the 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship. Indian player Rohit Yadav threw a throw of (87.05) meters in javelin throw with which he won the gold medal.

With this he has also qualified for the Asian Games 2026. This athletics championship was being played at Kalinga Stadium. On Sunday, Rohit Yadav became the player who made the longest throw from India this season.

Where is Rohit Yadav present in the world thrower list?

With this, he has come second in the world thrower list after the throw record of Sri Lankan player Ramesh Tharanga Pathirage (92.62) meters. The name of India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is also included in this list. Neeraj is present at the fourth place with a throw of (85.69) meters.

to Rohit had to go through a lot of struggle

This throw was also special for Rohit because his previous best (83.04) meters was. He had achieved this throw in 2023. Rohit Yadav threw (77.71) meters, (77.63) meters, one foul (no mark), (77.51) meters, (79.40) meters and then in the last attempt he threw (87.05) meters. Rohit told that he had to go through a lot of struggle while throwing, but in the last throw he found his rhythm and gave his best.

After the match was over, he said that his confidence had increased a lot due to this performance. Rohit further said that during training, he was throwing 86-87 meters, but he was not able to maintain his rhythm in the initial performance. Now he hopes that he will show his best performance in the upcoming matches.

Yashveer and Sachin also achieved the qualification mark

Rohit Yadav expressed happiness that he was successful in setting a new benchmark before the big competition. In men’s javelin event, Yashveer Singh got second place with a throw of (83.72) meters and Sachin Yadav got third place with a throw of (82.32) meters. Both these players have also achieved the Asian Games qualification mark.
