Fake Milk Viral Video: Many types of videos related to food safety and adulteration often go viral on social media. These days, one such video has surfaced, seeing which people are getting upset and raising questions about food safety. It is being claimed in the video that fake milk is being prepared by mixing a chemical that looks like phenyl in water.
After the video surfaced, many people have expressed concern about adulteration in food items and have tagged the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and demanded action. Different types of claims and reactions are emerging regarding this on social media.
Phenyl like chemical added to half bucket of water
In the viral video, a bottle is seen in a person’s hand, which is filled with a white colored liquid that looks like phenyl. He pours this liquid in a bucket half filled with water. After this, within some time the color of the water starts appearing white like milk. In the video, the person recording himself says that see, this is how milk is made in our place. After this he tells the other person not to add any more chemical, it will be too much. Then he claims that this is the milk that is put into the machine and this is the kind of milk that people drink. He further says that if anyone wants one or two liters of milk then he can contact them. It is also said in the video that about 20 liters of milk has been prepared, which will be put in the machine and sold. After this the video ends.

People raised questions on social media
After watching the video, many people expressed concern about adulterated food products. One user wrote that thousands of such adulterated things are being sold in the market, but no one cares. Another user said that if the video is true then the concerned department should take immediate action. Some people tagged the government and FSSAI and demanded an investigation into the entire matter. Many users said that instead of just sharing the video, its location and complete information should also be revealed, so that the concerned agencies can investigate.

Many users also raised questions on the claim
While on one hand many people expressed concern over the video, on the other hand many social media users also raised questions on this claim. Some people commented that the liquid seen in the video may not be the chemical used to make milk, but could be cutting oil or coolant used in machines, which appears white like milk as soon as it mixes with water. Some other users also wrote that it can only be a mixture that changes the color of water and milk or milk products cannot be prepared from it. Some users appealed that if the video is genuine then a complaint should be given to the concerned authorities with complete information.
