Big agreements signed between India and Japan in defence, energy, AI, PM Modi called Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi his younger sister.

India and Japan signed important agreements (MoC) to strengthen cooperation in many important areas including defence, energy, Artificial Intelligence (AI). These agreements signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi are being considered as a big step for the strategic partnership of the two countries. During this, PM Modi described Takaichi as his ‘younger sister’ and described the relationship between the two countries as an example of trust and friendship.

Important agreements signed in Hyderabad House
Representatives of both the countries signed several Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at Hyderabad House in Delhi. The objective of these agreements is to further strengthen cooperation in defence, energy, artificial intelligence, technology and other strategic areas.

Special focus will be on defence, energy and AI
Both countries agreed to deepen defense cooperation and expand partnership in clean energy, semiconductor, digital technology, AI and emerging technologies. These agreements are expected to give a new direction to the India-Japan strategic partnership in the Indo-Pacific region.

PM Modi said- Trust is the biggest strength
In the joint press conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he had also said in the G7 summit a few days ago that in the current global turmoil, mutual trust is the biggest strategic asset. He said, ‘I am proud that India-Japan partnership fully meets this criterion.’

‘Japan played an important role in India’s development journey’
PM Modi said that Japan has contributed significantly to India’s development in the last several decades in automobiles, electronics and many other sectors. This cooperation has created a strong relationship of trust and friendship between the two countries. He said that this visit of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is the beginning of a new chapter of India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi as his ‘younger sister’ and also mentioned the warmth of relations between the two countries. He said that the relationship between India and Japan is not limited to just strategic partnership, but is based on mutual trust, respect and long-standing friendship.
