Monsoon Update: Monsoon shadows the entire UP, but the pace is slow, the rain is not able to gain momentum.

People of most areas expecting abundant rain in Uttar Pradesh are feeling disappointed. Although the south-west monsoon has spread across Uttar Pradesh, the rains have still not gained momentum in the state. So far, an average of 45 percent less rainfall has been recorded in the entire state than normal. According to the report of Lucknow-based Zonal Meteorological Centre, on Thursday, with the monsoon entering the rest of Uttar Pradesh, it covered the entire state.

According to the report, the monsoon entered the state on June 30, about 12 days late from the normal time of June 18-20, and after that it spread across Uttar Pradesh by July 2. According to the report, monsoon usually reaches the entire state by June 30, but this year it was delayed by two days in reaching the entire state. Despite the advance of monsoon, rainfall has been below normal in both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall is 32 percent less so far

According to the Meteorological Department, between June 1 and July 2, eastern Uttar Pradesh recorded 57.5 mm rainfall against the normal rainfall of 120.3 mm, which is 52 percent less. At the same time, Western Uttar Pradesh received 59.4 mm rainfall against the normal average of 88 mm and this is 32 percent less. According to the department, overall the state received 58.3 mm rainfall against the normal level of 106.8 mm, which is 45 percent less than the normal.

More rain than normal in Bulandshahr-Muzaffarnagar

According to the Meteorological Department report, district-wise rainfall data showed that Etah and Sambhal received normal rainfall while Bulandshahr and Muzaffarnagar recorded more than normal rainfall.

There was less rain in these districts

According to the report, normal rainfall was recorded in 13 districts including Agra, Meerut, Mathura, Moradabad, Hardoi and Azamgarh, but below normal rainfall was recorded in 28 districts including Ayodhya, Bahraich, Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Maharajganj and Sonbhadra. At the same time, 60 to 99 percent less rainfall has been recorded in 30 districts including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Jhansi, Sitapur, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Shahjahanpur.
