Now members of the Bar Association of Faizabad have given a written complaint to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Police Station in the case of theft of offerings in Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. A complaint has been given regarding registration of FIR against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao.
It has been alleged in the complaint that there has been large scale theft of cash and valuable jewelery offered by the devotees from the donation box of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, due to which the religious sentiments of the devotees have been hurt.

Doubt on the role of Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rai
According to the complaint, Trust General Secretary Champat Rai, Trust members Anil Mishra and Gopal Rai have been accused of having a role in this alleged theft. It has been claimed that theft was being carried out for a long time by involving people close to them in counting the donations. It has been claimed in the complaint that about Rs 10 lakh has been recovered from a person associated with Champat Rai and about Rs 58 lakh has been recovered from a person associated with Anil Mishra and Gopal Rai. It is alleged that the stolen money was regularly transported to unknown places.
It has been said in the complaint that SIT was formed after the matter came to light, but its first report was not made public. It is alleged that the SIT was used to suppress the case and protect the real accused.

The complainant has alleged that the names of Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rai were not included as the main accused in the FIR number 90/2026 registered on June 25, 2026, whereas according to the complaint, based on the available facts, they should also have been made accused.
It has also been alleged in the complaint that important facts related to the cash and jewelery recovered during the investigation were not included in the FIR and an attempt was made to create a fake story and weaken the evidence to divert the case.
8 people arrested so far in the case
It should be noted that the case of irregularities in Ram temple offerings is being investigated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). There are instructions to submit its report by July 15. So far 8 accused have been arrested in this case and FIR has been registered against them. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra then resigned from their posts and took moral responsibility of the case, but their names have not been registered in the FIR.
