The UK tour of the Indian cricket team started from 26 June. Till now three matches have been completed, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not got a chance in the playing eleven. From captain Shreyas Iyer to the coaches have been repeating the same thing that they will give priority to their existing opening players and when the right time comes, Vaibhav will definitely be given a chance.
But 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s craze is making cricket fans as well as veterans crazy. Everyone wants to see what impact the innocent boy who hits big sixes in IPL makes in international cricket. Now South African veteran AB de Villiers has also jumped into the ongoing debate regarding Vaibhav.
The discussion about bringing Vaibhav in the playing eleven has also intensified because Sanju Samson is continuously flopping. So far on the UK tour, Samson has scored only 6 runs in three innings. De Villiers has also said that Samson has never been able to perform consistently and Vaibhav definitely deserves at least a chance.
Leave it open…
On his YouTube channel, AB de Villiers said, “When will he be released? I thought the Ireland series was the perfect opportunity for him to debut to see what it feels like to play international cricket. It is unfortunate that he did not get a chance to debut.”
Indian coach targeted
Indian team’s assistant coach Ryan ten Deutsche said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi will also have to wait for his chance like other players. Taking aim at this, de Villiers said, “After Vaibhav had such a stellar IPL season, it was time to prepare him for a bigger challenge.”
