EPFO Update 2026: After being closed for about eight days due to technical upgrade, the online portal of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has finally become operational. After a long period of maintenance and system updates, now members and employers will be able to use its services again. According to EPFO, there may still be slight delays or some technical problems in the working of some online facilities in the beginning.
EPFO says that the database and software have been upgraded on a large scale to make the portal faster and better than before. Its main objective is to provide better and reliable services to the users in future.
Why was the website closed?
EPFO’s website was closed for about a week due to maintenance and technical upgrade. Earlier this service was planned to start from June 29, but later it was extended to July 1 and July 3, 2026. At the same time, the website has been restarted today afternoon and all the major services seem to be gradually becoming normal.
EPFO Update: Now you will not have to wait long for interest, these new facilities will be available from July 15
What changed in claim and passbook service?
According to EPFO, now PF claims and service requests will be processed in a phased manner. Additional verification and validation of every application will be done for the first two weeks, so that there is no glitch of any kind in the system and it works completely properly. During this period, processing of PF claim, passbook and some other online services may take more time. Currently all services are now available to use.
EPFO says that all the software has been upgraded to make the system better, faster and safer than before. However, they have not given any information as to what new features have been added to the passbook or claim service after the upgrade and how much easier the process will be compared to before.

- Do not submit the same claim or request repeatedly.
- Avoid logging in again and again or checking the status of the claim if not necessary.
