Rishabh pant fined: Lucknow Super Giants have suffered another setback after the defeat against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Captain Rishabh Pant and all the players of Lucknow have been fined by the BCCI. Chasing 216 runs in this match, Lucknow was piled for 161 runs and Mumbai won the match by 54 runs.
The Lucknow Super Gynts team has been imposed this fine due to slow over rate. This is the second violation of Lucknow this season, due to which Pant has been fined and other players have also been damaged. Actually, for the first time this happens only on the captain, while the second time, the players are also fined along with the captain.
Rishabh Pant fined 24 lakhs
The IPL reported that, “Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant has been fined as his team maintained a slow over-vet against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday during the match 45 of Tata Indian Premier League 2025 against Mumbai Indians.
“Since it was the second crime of his team in the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL code of conduct, which is related to minimum over-per-rate offenses, Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh. The rest of the members of the playing XI including the impact player will be fined either six lakh rupees or 25 percent of their related match fees, whatever is reduced.”
Bad form of most expensive player of IPL released
Rishabh Pant is the most expensive player in IPL history, he was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore. With the captain, the team hoped that their team would do well. The performance of the team is not very bad but the captain has yet disappointed. On Sunday too, he returned to the pavilion after scoring just 4 runs against Mumbai Indians. Rishabh Pant has scored just 110 runs in 10 matches, while in just one innings he scored 63 runs.
