US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham died suddenly on Saturday evening (July 11, 2026). He was 71 years old. Never been confident about Pakistan’s policy and intentions. Recently he had also raised many questions regarding the mediation between America and Iran. In the early stages of his political career, Lindsay was a vocal critic of US President Donald Trump, but later became one of his most trusted supporters on Capitol Hill (US Parliament).
Threatened to destroy India
Lindsay, a close aide of Trump, has often been in the headlines due to his controversial statements on various issues. He had proposed a bill (Graham-Blumenthal Bill) to impose tariffs of up to 500% on Russia to buy cheap oil and uranium. He had also included China and Brazil in this, on which it was said that 500 percent tariff would be imposed. He had said that countries like India are providing financial support to Putin’s war machine by buying cheap oil from Russia. He had said, ‘If you keep buying cheap Russian oil to continue this war, we will destroy you and destroy your economy.’
India accused of promoting Putin’s war machinery
Lindsey Graham had targeted India and China by posting on his official social media account in June 2025. Taking the name of India and China, he said that if you continue to promote Putin’s war machinery, you will have no other option but to blame yourself. In February 2026, he supported the 25 percent tariff imposed on India by the Trump administration. He had said that earlier India used to buy only 3 percent of its total oil requirement from Russia, but after the war it has increased it.
I don’t trust Pakistan:
However, he has also given strong statements many times regarding Pakistan. He never praised his mediation in the Iran conflict. They described him as a mediator full of problems and with a negative attitude towards Israel. He also called Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif’s non-participation in the Abraham Accords wrong. He had said that at the time of the American attack, Pakistan was giving shelter to Iranian military aircraft at its bases. He had publicly said that he did not trust Pakistan.
Threatened to eliminate Khamenei
He had openly supported US President Donald Trump’s plan to occupy Greenland. Addressing European leaders, he said, ‘Who cares who owns Greenland?’ Apart from this, he had termed Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a dictator. He had said, ‘Now the time has come for him to go. The people there also want him to step down from the post. If I were in the place of Mr. President, I would have ended the leadership which is killing its own people.
