A new era of tourism is going to start in Bihar. Heli-tourism and air tourism service scheme is going to be started. CM Samrat Chaudhary will launch the scheme in a program organized in Patna on Monday (July 13). Booking of helicopter service will start from 13th July 2026.

Air service will start from Patna to major tourist destinations. In the first phase, Valmikinagar, Kaimur, Rajgir and Patna have been connected with helicopter service. Heli-tourism service will be started for Patna-Valmikinagar and Patna-Kaimur and Patna-Rajgir. The government is giving huge subsidy to the passengers per ticket.

Golden opportunity for heli tourism at low fares

People will get a golden opportunity for heli tourism at low fares. Helicopter joy ride is also available. A 10-minute walk will be conducted in Patna area at a very affordable rate and people will be able to experience the thrill. Service will be available every Saturday-Sunday from July 18, 2026.

How much will the fare be?

With the grant of the state government, now tourists will be able to enjoy Patna Joy Ride for just Rs 2,100, Patna-Rajgir for Rs 4,000, Patna-Valmikinagar for Rs 5,000 and Patna-Kaimur for just Rs 6,000. The government will give a maximum subsidy of up to Rs 15,422 per ticket. Booking of tickets will be done through the online portal of Bihar Tourism and Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation.

What is the purpose of Heli and Air Tourism Service Scheme?

According to the Tourism Department, the objective of the Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Service Scheme is to ensure quick, safe and easy access of tourists to religious, cultural and natural tourist destinations. Tourism Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said that in the first phase of the scheme, Valmikinagar of West Champaran, Maa Mundeshwari Temple in Kaimur and Rajgir of Nalanda have been included.

Through this, the aim has been set to promote religious tourism, create employment opportunities at the local level, increase tourism revenue and establish Bihar as a heli-tourism spot at the national level.
