In a tragic accident on Sunday (July 12) evening in Alipur area of the capital Delhi, two innocent children died due to drowning in a pit filled with rain water. This accident happened in Hiranaki Road, Mukhmelpur area of Mukundpur. Both the children were bathing in a pit filled with rain water, when suddenly they went into deep water and drowned. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the area after the accident. Initial investigation has revealed that there is no security arrangement around the pit. The police have registered an FIR in the matter and started investigation.
According to the information, the fire department received information about the incident at around 5:55 pm. As soon as the information was received, a small water tender (SWT) and a motorcycle rescue team were sent to the spot from Bhorgarh fire station. The rescue operation was led by station officer Vijay Dahiya. The local police team also reached the spot and started investigating the matter.

According to the police, at around 4 pm on Saturday evening, three children had gone to play in the fields located behind the village. Meanwhile, two children fell into a deep pit filled with water and started drowning. The third child who was with him ran to the village and informed people about the accident. As soon as the information was received, the villagers reached the spot and about 8 people together pulled the two children out of the pit.
Local people took the children out
Station officer Vijay Dahiya said that even before the fire department arrived, the people present nearby had taken both the children out of the water. After this he was immediately taken to Raja Harishchandra Hospital with the help of CATS ambulance. However, the doctors on duty at the hospital declared both the children dead.
Identification of both children
According to the police and fire department, the children who lost their lives in the accident have been identified as 7-year-old Ayush, father Moti Chand and 8-year-old Nitesh, father Kanhaiya. Both the children are said to be residents of the same neighborhood.

Police have sent both the bodies to the mortuary of BJRM Hospital for post-mortem. In this case, the negligence of the person responsible for the safety and maintenance of the pit is being investigated. Police say that further legal action will be taken based on the investigation.
