The first match of the ongoing 3-match ODI series between India and England is being played on Tuesday (July 14) at Edgbaston, Birmingham. England made a major change in its squad midway through the match. Making an official announcement, the England Cricket Board said that 30-year-old fast bowler Brydon Carse has become a part of the squad.
It was told in the release of the English Board that Bryden Carse has been included in the England men’s team for the ODI series against India. He is making a comeback after recovering from wrist and elbow injuries and playing three matches with Durham in the Vitality Blast. Before this, Carse’s most recent ODI for England was against New Zealand in Wellington in November 2025.

Now England’s squad has become 17 members. Earlier, the squad of host England was 16 members. In the first ODI, the English team is on the field with fast bowlers like Joffra Archer, Josh Tong and Sam Curran. Now it will be interesting to see whether Carr gets a chance in England’s playing 11 in the second ODI on 16th July (Thursday) or not.
Bryden Carse’s international career
If we look at Carse’s international career, he is the bowler who has played all three formats for England. So far, he has played 14 Tests, 30 ODIs and 14 T20 International matches in his career. He took 58 wickets in 27 innings of Test. Apart from this, he took 34 wickets in 29 innings of ODI. In the remaining 13 innings of T20 International, he took 20 wickets in his account.
