Earlier, the statement of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) working president and Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule has indicated that if some things are accepted, then her party may be ready to support.

He said that if fifty percent seats are allocated according to the existing seats in the state, then there should be no objection to it. Sule said that he will not support the bill until he sees it.

Sule said- UBT had also shown positive attitude

Supriya Sule said that if there is a provision for 50 percent increase in Lok Sabha seats across the country in the Constituency Reorganization Bill, then whether she will support that proposal or not, she will talk to the people of Hum India Alliance and present her views. He told that this option was discussed in the all-party meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah. According to him, not only the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) but also Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and some other opposition parties had shown a positive stance on this issue. What did the government say in April?

Let us tell you that during the special session of Parliament in April this year, the Central Government had introduced the Delimitation Bill, 2026, the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Union Territory Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Meanwhile, during a discussion in the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah had said that no injustice will be done to any state, especially the states of South India. The Delimitation Bill, 2026 will benefit the southern states, not harm them. He had said that at present there are 129 MPs from South India; After this bill, the number will increase to 195. We have not made any changes in the Delimitation Commission Act; We have repeated the existing Act exactly down to the full stop and comma.

The opposition India Alliance had opposed this bill. His claim was that through this delimitation the central government will act arbitrarily and decide the seats as per its own.
