Bihar government has taken a big decision regarding Panchayats. Panchayats will be delimited in a new way according to the population of the year 2011. This decision was taken on Wednesday (July 15) in a meeting chaired by CM Samrat Chaudhary. Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Department, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary informed about this decision.

Arvind Kumar Chaudhary said that this decision will ensure strengthening of local self-governance, effective implementation of development plans, balanced representation according to the population and easy availability of public facilities. Formation or creation of Gram Panchayat areas will increase administrative efficiency, local representation and regional balance in the development of Gram Panchayat areas.

Tax will be imposed on holding and commercial shops in rural areas

Now taxes will have to be paid on setting up holdings in rural areas and on shops doing business in villages. A total of 25 agendas were approved in the cabinet meeting. In this, an important proposal has been approved by the Panchayati Raj Department in which the government has got the approval in the cabinet to form the Gram Panchayat Tax Rate and Fee Rules 2026 so that the Gram Panchayat can develop its resources and there is less burden on the state government. Under this, fees will be determined for setting up holdings in the Gram Panchayat area and for shops related to money, trade, industry and business under the Panchayat area.

Increase in motor vehicle and business tax

Along with this, motor vehicle fees have also been increased. In today’s cabinet meeting, the cabinet has given approval to increase the one percent fixed tax on two wheeler vehicles by one percent, increase the current tax on three wheeler vehicles by Rs 1000 and increase the trade tax by four times.

Increase in salary of jail staff and compensation policy for relatives of prisoners

Along with this, good news has been received for the ex-servicemen and chamberlains employed on jail contract. The monthly salary which these people were getting was Rs 19800, has now been approved in the Cabinet to be increased to Rs 30000. The Samrat Government has today approved in the Cabinet the proposal of making a policy of compensation to the dependents, family members or heirs of the prisoners after the death of the prisoners lodged in the jail.

Approval given to buy scooter for women police

Apart from this, approval has been given to purchase 1000 petrol and 500 electric scooters out of 1500 scooters for the women police for the safety of girls and women in school, college coaching institutes. Approval of Rs 222 crore has been given for the Hajipur sewerage network sponsored by the central government. An approval of Rs 170 crore has been given for the Central Government’s urban transformation scheme Khagaria. An approval of Rs 197 crore has been given for the urban transformation scheme of Sitamarhi. An approval of Rs 228 crore has been given for Samastipur.

Special Committee for Development and Management of Temples

Approval has been given to form Bhavani Temple Justice Committee for Mundeshwari Bhavani Temple under Kaimur district. So for the development of Punaura Dham temple of Sitamarhi, the land has been approved by the Revenue Land Reforms Department.
