Rohit Sharma did not get a place, Robin Uthappa chose India’s all-time ODI XI, made these two openers

Former Indian batsman Robin Uthappa has selected his favorite Indian ODI XI during the ‘This or That’ challenge on Instagram. He did not include Rohit Sharma in this team, whereas Rohit is India’s third highest run scorer in ODI cricket and is also the only player in the world to score three double centuries. Uthappa made the historic opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly his first choice. If we look at the figures, this option seems very strong. Sachin Tendulkar has been the most successful batsman in the history of ODI. Sachin has 18,426 runs in his name. Sourav Ganguly, who recently joined the ICC Hall of Fame, has scored 11,221 runs in 308 matches.

Virat, Yuvraj and Dhoni got place

Uthappa chose Virat Kohli at number three, who has the highest number of 54 centuries in ODI cricket. Yuvraj Singh was given the fourth position, while MS Dhoni was chosen as the wicketkeeper and captain. India won the 2011 ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Dhoni. To further strengthen the batting, Suresh Raina was included at number six.

Reliance on all-rounders and greats in bowling

As an all-rounder, Uthappa chose 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev in place of Hardik Pandya. Ravindra Jadeja got the place as spin all-rounder, while Anil Kumble was selected as specialist spinner. The responsibility of fast bowling was handed over to Zaheer Khan and Jasprit Bumrah.
