As part of the 37-day-long rebellion in Rawalakot in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the march of lakhs of protesters towards the capital Muzaffarabad on Wednesday (July 15, 2026) has been postponed till July 21. The march was postponed at a time when people from different cities of Poonch division had started reaching Rawalakot on the night of Tuesday (July 14, 2026) and by 8 am on Wednesday (July 15), more than 1.5 lakh people had reached Rawalakote in PoK for the march to Muzaffarabad. With this, groups from Kotli and Bagh had moved towards Muzaffarabad.
Pakistani delegation arrived to talk to the protesters
According to the information, on the afternoon of Tuesday (July 14), Awami Action Committee (JAAC) member Omar Nazir had written a letter to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto, informing him about the march to be held on Wednesday (July 15) and told how the PPP’s puppet government in PoK, along with the Pakistan Army and Rangers, tortured and oppressed the people of PoK. After which, on Wednesday afternoon, a delegation led by former Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf reached Rawalakot by helicopter to hold talks with Bilawal Bhutto’s letter and talked to the main organizers of the protest.
What did Bilawal Bhutto say to the protesters in the letter??
During the conversation, Bilawal Bhutto’s letter was also handed over to the protesters, which was also posted by Bilawal Bhutto on X. In this, Bilawal Bhutto appealed to the protesters to end the 37-day-long protest and Muzaffarabad march and told the protesters that he proposes to form a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which will take a fair decision on the recent incidents, implementation of the old agreement and the case registered against the protesters and the ban on the organization.
Asim Munir’s special person talked to the protesters
Apart from this, on Tuesday (July 14) night, Syed Qamar Raza, head of Pakistan Overseas Foundation (POF), an aide of Pakistani military chief Asim Munir, first talked to Omar Nazir and said that he had given the letter of the protesters to Asim Munir when he was in Turkey.
After which, according to Umar Nazir, Syed Qamar Raza told him that Asim Munir gave Qamar Raza a mandate for talks and sent him to PoK, where Qamar Raza talked to the protesters separately. In such a situation, the Awami Action Committee announced that the Government of Pakistan should give some more time to consider their demands and after this the Muzaffarabad march to be held on Wednesday (July 15) was postponed.
Different thinking of four main protesting leaders
However, according to the information, the two main organizers of the movement, Sardar Aman Khan and Sardar Javed Iqbal, did not attend the meeting of Asim Munir’s alleged messenger Qamar Raza and former Pakistan Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf with the leaders of the protesters on Wednesday. Because according to both of them, this rebellion is no longer limited to 38 demands, but is a fight for freedom.
Also, out of the four main organizers of the protest, two organizers Shaukat Nawaz Mir and Sardar Umar Nazir have always been lovers of Pakistan, but the other two main organizers Sardar Aman Khan and Khawaja Mehran have been in favor of separating POK from Pakistan.
An example of this was seen once again on the stage today, where Sardar Aman Khan once again raised the slogan of ‘Yeh Watan Hamara Hai’ from the stage and said that this slogan hurts the pro-Pakistan people sitting in PoK and the ministers of Pakistan.
Similarly, Khwaja Mehran slammed Pakistan from the stage and Sardar Omar Nazir claimed that he stopped Wednesday’s march so that there was no bloodshed in PoK. Sardar Omar Nazir said that the Pakistani Army has not yet handed over the bodies of those killed in POK and more than 200 people are forcibly missing in POK, saying that all the protests that have been going on for 37 days in POK will continue as per the status quo. Also, till now 73 people have been killed in the firing by Pakistani Rangers in PoK.
