US Iran Tensions: The sudden increase in military activities around Iran’s capital Tehran has once again created the fear of increasing tension in West Asia. There have been reports of air defense systems being activated around Tehran and explosions near Borujerd city. However, it is not yet clear what is the reason for these incidents nor has anyone issued an official statement.
American military aircraft seen over Tehran
According to public flight tracking websites, many US military aircraft have been seen active around Iran at this time. These include three KC-135 air-tankers, two KC-46A air-tankers and one E-3 AWACS aircraft. AWACS aircraft are used for aerial surveillance and early warning, while KC-135 and KC-46A aircraft provide air refueling to fighter aircraft. However, experts say that only a few military aircraft are visible on public tracking websites. Actual military activities may be much higher than this.
