National Testing Agency has released the result of NEET UG exam on 16th July. This time more than 11.21 lakh candidates have been successful in the examination. Now after the results are out, the big question is that which medical college can the students get on the basis of All India Rank and what are the chances of getting a government MBBS seat. However, the final seat allotment is not decided only by rank, but category, state quota, availability of seats, counseling rounds and college preferences of the candidates also play a big role in it. In such a situation, let us tell you today which medical college can be found at which rank, government or private.
All India rank is decided by colleges, not just marks in NEET.
Admission in medical colleges is not only based on marks, but All India Rank and other standards also matter. During counselling, the candidate’s category, state domicile, reservation rules, seat matrix and list of preferred colleges are also taken into consideration. This is the reason that despite having the same marks, candidates from different states and categories can get different colleges.
Which college is expected to get which rank?
- Candidates can estimate their probable college based on previous years counseling trends, like students with All India Rank 1 to 100 have a higher chance of getting MBBS seat in top AIIMS and premium government medical colleges of the country including AIIMS Delhi.
- Whereas with All India Rank 101 to 1000, there is a good chance of getting admission in AIIMS, JIPMER and prestigious government medical colleges of the country.
- After this, there is a possibility of getting MBBS in major government medical colleges of the country having All India Rank 1000 to 5000.
- People with All India Rank 5000 to 10,000 can also get the opportunity of admission in government medical colleges.
- Whereas in All India Rank 10,000 to 20,000, there is a possibility of getting a government MBBS college through All India Quota and State Quota.
- All India Rank 20,000 to 50,000 can also get MBBS seat in government or private colleges through state quota.
- If All India Rank is 50,000 to 1 lakh, there are better chances of getting MBBS seat in private colleges.
- One can get MBBS seat in private and deemed universities at All India Rank 1 lakh to 1 lakh 50 thousand.
- MBBS or BDS options may be available in All India Rank 1 lakh 50 thousand to 2 lakh 50 thousand private medical colleges.
- With All India Rank above 2 lakh 50 thousand, the chances of admission in BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and other AYUSH courses are higher in private medical colleges.

How many seats will be available for admission in MBBS?
According to the National Medical Council, 1,36,939 MBBS seats are available across the country for 2026. Of these, 63,296 seats are in government medical colleges while 73,643 seats are in private medical colleges. This year’s admission, a total of 9,911 new MBBS seats have been added compared to last year, which includes seats in both government and medical institutes. Apart from 15 percent All India Quota MBBS and BDS seats, counseling will also be conducted through MCC on the seats of AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU, ESIC, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Deemed University and some B.Sc Nursing Institutes. Whereas for 85 percent seats of special government medical colleges, counseling agencies of different states will complete the process.
