The West Indies team will play a two-match Test series against Pakistan from July 25 to August 6, for which left-arm spinner Joshua Bishop has been included in the Caribbean team for the first time.
Joshua Bishop has been rewarded for his excellent performance in regional cricket. He has taken a total of 91 wickets for Barbados Pride and West Indies Academy in the last three West Indies Championship seasons. Joshua has taken 116 wickets in 25 first-class matches, while he has 79 wickets in his name in 54 List-A matches.
Roston Chase will take charge of the team. He could not play in the recent ODI series against New Zealand due to an injury in his right index finger. Jomel Warrican will be the vice-captain. The selectors have retained the main squad which won the Test series 1-0 against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

At the same time, batsman Kirk McKenzie has returned to the Test team for the first time since 2024. McKenzie will replace opener John Campbell, who was ruled out due to a left hamstring strain during the recent ODI matches against New Zealand. McKenzie’s domestic performances have been excellent; He has scored 323 runs in six innings in the West Indies Championship at an average of 64.6. Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph was not available for selection due to personal reasons.
The first match of the series will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy from 25 to 29 July. The second test match of the series will be held at the historic Queens Park Oval from 2 to 6 August. Currently, the West Indies team is at eighth position in the WTC standings, while Pakistan is at the bottom of the table at ninth position.
