Rahul Gandhi was upset over Delhi University’s order for students to stay away from Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He strongly criticized the new order of the university. Delhi University has issued rules for the students citing the instructions of the Supreme Court, due to which there is a fresh uproar.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi raised questions while re-posting the social media post of Delhi University. Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter, “How dare you stop students from exercising their democratic rights? Remember, when the time comes, you will be held accountable.”
On Thursday (July 23), Delhi University informed the students about the new rules by posting on the social media platform X. It was written in the post that dear students and faculty members, your safety is important for us. Please note that any illegal assembly or demonstration at Jantar Mantar New Delhi, which is subject to strict rules as per the directions of the Honorable Supreme Court of India, may result in legal action against you.

What did you say about your education and career?
The post further said that such activities can pose a serious threat to the personal safety of students and can also adversely affect their educational progress and career opportunities. Therefore, there is an appeal to all the students to stay away from Jantar Mantar and give priority to their safety and following the law.
Students advised to be careful
Explaining further to the students, it was said that you are advised to exercise caution as a lot of fake and misleading information is being created and spread to inflame the situation. Therefore, all of you should be careful.
