R Ashwin said on his YouTube channel, ‘Bhuvneshwar Kumar should be considered for the 2027 ODI World Cup. He looks more fit than before. He has experience and bowls well in powerplay as well as death overs. He can also bat usefully in the lower order. So I think he should get another chance.
Bhuvi again showed his edge in IPL 2026
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled brilliantly for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2026. He showed amazing swing with the new ball and continuously troubled the batsmen with accurate yorkers in the death overs. In the entire season, he took 28 wickets in 16 matches. He also remained in the Purple Cap race till the end and missed getting this honor by just one wicket.

Bhuvneshwar is out of ODI team after 2022
Bhuvneshwar Kumar played his last ODI match against South Africa in the year 2022. In that match he gave 67 runs in eight overs. After this the team management kept distance from him in 50 over cricket. However, he retained his place in the T20 team for some time. After the T20 World Cup 2022, his international journey also slowed down and the T20 series against New Zealand was the last international series of his career.
