In the joint action of Baghpat Police and Meerut STF, notorious criminal Vipul alias Khooni, carrying a reward of Rs 50 thousand, was killed in a police encounter. The police have described this action taken in Singhawali Ahir police station area as a big success. More than 38 serious cases including murder, robbery, dacoity and gangsterism were registered against the slain criminal. He was absconding for a long time and Shamli police had declared a reward of Rs 50 thousand on him.
Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai said that the killed criminal Vipul alias Khooni son of Netrapal Singh was a resident of Bhabhisa village of Kandhla police station area. He was considered an active member of the notorious Sushil Mustache gang and a sharp shooter. The police was searching for him for a long time.
Miscreant shot in police retaliation
SP said that Baghpat Police and Meerut STF had received information about his being in Singhawali Ahir area. After this the joint team laid siege. According to the police, seeing himself surrounded, Vipul started firing, in response to which the police also retaliated. He was seriously injured in the encounter. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Warrants were issued against the criminal
SP told that in the year 2014, Vipul along with his associates had murdered the famous criminal Bhim Bhabhisa. He was also an accused in the Pawan murder case that took place in the same year, whose case is still pending in the court. After being released on bail, he was not appearing in the court, due to which warrants were also issued against him.
was on the run for a long time
According to police records, his name had also come up in the case of murder of the then female head on suspicion of giving information to the police after an incident of vehicle robbery in Manpur area of Saharanpur in the year 2017. Apart from this, recently he had threatened to kill the plaintiff in an old case while demanding the money spent in the case. A new case was registered in this regard in Kandhla police station, after which he was absconding.
Two pistols, a bike and cartridges recovered
After the encounter, the police recovered two pistols, a bike and cartridges from the spot. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and advance legal action is being taken in the entire matter. Officials say that Vipul’s killing has dealt a major blow to the network of criminals operating in western Uttar Pradesh.
