AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday (July 25, 2026) praised the efforts of the youth (Gen-Z) who succeeded in their cause and forced the government to bow before the youth and forced Dharmendra Pradhan to resign.
Addressing a public meeting in Moradabad, he accused BJP and RSS of promoting the ideology of Hindutva. Owaisi appealed to Muslims to remain united against what he called divisive politics before the elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Owaisi worried about Johar University
During this, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi specifically targeted Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav on the issue of demolishing Johar University. He questioned why Akhilesh Yadav, who was the Chief Minister till 2017, did not regularize the university buildings during his tenure, although there was scope for doing so in the Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Act, 1973.
Owaisi asked the gathering, ‘Akhilesh Yadav had cited the law and said that Johar University can be regularized under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Act, 1973. I want to ask the sycophants of SP and those who enslave the Samajwadi Party that you were the Chief Minister till 2017. Why didn’t you regularize Johar University?
Owaisi’s sharp attack on Akhilesh Yadav
The AIMIM chief termed SP’s argument as hypocrisy that former minister Azam Khan had not informed him about the issue. He said, ‘SP people will say- No, Azam Khan did not tell us. So will you do whatever Azam Khan says? This is their hypocrisy. When he was the Chief Minister, he could have saved the building, but now because elections are coming, he is presenting such lies in front of you.
He further said, ‘Rampur Development Authority had recently ordered the demolition of 38 out of 40 buildings of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University. This order was given citing violation of rules under Section 27 of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973.
Increasing political activity before UP elections
This speech of Owaisi has come amid increasing political activity in Uttar Pradesh. The AIMIM chief stressed on the unity of Muslims against the so-called Hindutva agenda of the ruling party. This order to demolish buildings has become a big issue in the state politics and many parties are using it to attack each other before the upcoming elections.
