India’s ‘Speed Gun’ Mayank Yadav has created history. He set a historic record by taking the wicket of Brian Bennett on the first ball in the third T20 match against Zimbabwe. He has become only the second Indian bowler in T20 International cricket to take a wicket on the first ball of the innings thrice.
Mayank has done this twice in this series against Zimbabwe. In the first T20 match, he took the wicket of Brian Bennett on the first ball of the innings. The same carbon-copy scene was seen again in the third match. This time also Mayank made Brian Bennett his victim on the first ball of the innings.
Mayank Yadav created history
Mayank Yadav is now the second bowler who has taken a wicket on the first ball of the innings thrice in a T20 match. Before him, only Bhuvneshwar Kumar had been able to do this thrice. Bhuvneshwar has also taken a wicket on the first ball of the innings thrice in his career. Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh have done this twice for India.

Mayank Yadav has taken a wicket on the first ball of the innings twice in the series against Zimbabwe. He did this for the first time in the year 2024. In the month of October that year, in the last T20 match of India-Bangladesh series, Bangladesh team was chasing the target of 298 runs. Mayank Yadav had dismissed Parvez Hussain Emon on the very first ball of Bangladesh’s innings.
