BCCI is keeping a close eye on the recent performance of the Indian cricket team. Even Ireland had defeated Team India 0-2 on the UK tour. After that, England also defeated the Indian team in the T20 and ODI series. Team India played 10 matches on the UK tour and won only one. Now there is news that BCCI may hold a review meeting regarding this performance very soon.
BCCI will review Team India
According to Cricbuzz, this review meeting can be held in the beginning of August. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that especially the Ireland and England white ball series will be the center of discussion in the review meeting. However, the date of the meeting has not been revealed yet.
Shreyas Iyer started his captaincy career from the Ireland tour. For the first time in history, Ireland won a series against the Indian team. On one hand, the team management has made clear its intention to prepare a young team, meanwhile England also defeated India 0-4 in the T20 series. Even the ODI team captained by Shubman Gill lost the series 1-2.
Keep a close eye on the coaching staff also
In the same report of Cricbuzz, it was told that some members of the coaching staff may also face punishment in the BCCI review meeting. Recently an update came out that Ryan Ten Deutsche himself has requested BCCI to remove him. His two-year tenure has been completed and there is a high possibility that he may not get a new contract. On the other hand, the Indian team had very poor fielding on the UK tour. In such a situation, fielding coach T Dilip can also be the target of BCCI.
