The discussion about Hardik Pandya going to Chennai Super Kings has started again. A few weeks ago, CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan had dismissed reports of Hardik being traded to Mumbai Indians. Now a report published in Hindustan Times claimed that Chennai Super Kings is trying hard to bring Hardik into their squad.
2 players plus 10 crores
According to Hindustan Times, Mumbai Indians had demanded Shivam Dubey and Ayush Mhatre in exchange of Hardik Pandya. The management of the Mumbai team sees Mhatre as a future talent, but Chennai Super Kings is not ready to release their 19-year-old star opener.
Chennai Super Kings has made a counter offer to MI. CSK is ready to release Shivam Dubey, but has offered to send Dewald Brevis to Mumbai in place of Ayush Mhatre. Not only this, CSK team is also ready to pay Shivam Dubey, Dewald Brevis and additional Rs 10 crore for Hardik Pandya. If both the franchises agree on this, then it will be a total deal of more than Rs 20 crore.
Hardik is the total package
There have been very few all-rounders in Indian cricket who can bat in the middle order and also have leadership skills. Although under the captaincy of Hardik, Mumbai Indians could not win the title in the last 3 seasons, but under his captaincy, Gujarat won the 2022 IPL title.
Any team would be ready to spend crores of rupees on Hardik Pandya, because he can bowl 4 overs in T20 matches, not only bat in the middle order but can also play the role of a finisher. Along with this, he can also captain.
