Bollywood actor Rahul Bose turns 59 today. He was born on 27 July 1967 in Kolkata to Marathi-Punjabi mother Kumud Bose and Bengali father Rupen Bose. Rahul, who was fond of acting since childhood, worked as an actor-director when he grew up. While he was also fond of rugby. He has also played rugby for India.
Left job for acting
At the age of 6, Rahul acted in the school play Tom, the Piper’s Son. After this his interest towards acting increased. However, when he grew up, he had to do a job before entering the acting field. Rahul Bose’s first film was English, August (1994). This English film was directed by Dev Benegal. He made his debut as a lead actor in Bollywood in the year 2003 with the film ‘Jhankar Beats’. Rahul had told in an interview given to The Lallan Top in the year 2024 that during the shooting of his first film, he was not even given a chair to sit, even though he was the lead actor. On the other hand, the producer, his sister and his uncle all used to sit on chairs.
