However, ‘Alpha’ failed to attract the audience in theaters after its release and did not perform well at the box office. Initially it was expected that this spy thriller would be streamed online about two months after its theatrical release. However, after the disappointing performance of the film at the box office, it may soon debut on the digital platform.

According to media reports, the makers can release ‘Alpha’ on OTT around August 15. However, the release date has not been made official yet. But it is confirmed that this film of Alia Bhatt will be streamed on Netflix, because the platform has purchased its digital rights.

‘Alpha’ was released in theaters on July 3 and since then it has earned more than Rs 100 crore worldwide. At the same time, this spy thriller has earned approximately Rs 70 crore at the Indian box office. It is noteworthy that compared to the previous films of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, the box office performance of ‘Alpha’ has been the weakest.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, ‘Alpha’ marks the first female lead in Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. It is produced by Aditya Chopra and stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh in the lead roles, while Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Nikitin Dheer also play important roles in this action thriller.
