Under the leadership of the captain, the team will enter the field with the intention of starting the campaign with a win and strengthening its hold on the points table. The selectors have chosen experienced and young players for this match. Let us know about 5 important things related to team selection…

- Injured fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have also been included in the Indian Test team. However, Bumrah is currently recovering from injury and will join the team only after becoming completely fit. It is noteworthy that Bumrah and Jadeja were not part of the Indian team in the only Test match played against Afghanistan.
- Batsman Sai Sudarshan has also not been able to make a place in the Indian Test team for the Sri Lanka tour due to injury. His availability will also depend on fitness clearance like Jasprit Bumrah. Sai Sudarshan will be able to join the team only after being declared completely fit.
- Talking about Saransh Jain, he has got a place in the Test team for the first time. Saransh is 33 years old, he is a left-handed batsman and bowls right-arm spin. Represents Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. He has scored 2,223 runs along with taking 188 wickets in 54 first class matches, due to which he has proved himself as an excellent all-rounder.
- At the same time, all-rounder Washington Sundar has not got a place in the team this time. Sundar is currently struggling with injury, due to which the selectors have expressed confidence in Saransh Jain in his place.
- On the other hand, fast bowler Aaqib Nabi Dar, who has consistently performed brilliantly in domestic cricket, has once again been disappointed. Despite taking the most wickets in the last Ranji Trophy season, he did not get a place in the Indian Test team this time too. Earlier, he was not even selected for the only test match played against Afghanistan.
