US President Donald Trump on Monday (July 27, 2026) rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s opposition to the sale of American F-35 fighter jets to Turkey. He said in a sharp manner that no one will tell him what to sell to America. Along with this, Trump praised Turkey and said that it has been a great ally of America.
US President speaks on Netanyahu’s opposition
US President Donald Trump said during a conversation with reporters in Air Force One, ‘No one will tell me what we should sell. Turkiye has been a great colleague for me. He said, ‘Turkey is a very powerful country, which has a very large and strong army and also has many excellent military equipment.’
He further said, ‘Turkey is neither a big supporter of Israel nor of its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but he has been a very good ally for me.’
US-Netanyahu’s opposition to Turkey’s F-35 jet deal
This statement of Donald Trump came at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reached Washington on Monday (July 27, 2026) for high-level talks with the US President.
